There are many couples getting married that are pushing back or rebelling against tradition. They seek adventure, intimacy, meaning and beauty. They want their vows to be said to each other without all the fanfare, stress and expense.
The adventure elopement has been born!
Many of the photos of couples on top of mountains, ski slopes, beaches, caves, and anything you can think of are adventure elopements.
The adventure goes something like this;
The bride and groom contact a company or wedding planner that specializes in these types of ceremonies. The location is established from a list that is offered or a location meaningful to the couple.
Depending on the location, there are items that can and cannot be used in the ceremony.
If the couple wants to hike in to a remote location, everyone travels; the photographer, videographer, drone photographer, officiant and anyone who is attending. Whatever items are needed for the ceremony are also carried in, including the wedding gown and flowers.
I have seen brides hiking in their gowns, but I don’t recommend it for obvious reasons. The bride and groom will sometimes change in a tent or behind a tree. Remember this is an adventure!
The vows are exchanged while overlooking an incredible vista with the sun setting and all of nature clapping in response. You get the idea.
It’s a stunning, fun and intimate experience.
The couple ends up with wonderful memories, photos that are epic and they have a lot more money in their pockets.
This is not for everyone, but it is growing in popularity and if you are an adventure seeker this just might be for you!
My new company, The Wedding Niche is offering this type of ceremony.
Cheers,
Lisa
