How Much Should a Micro Wedding Cost?

Many couples I speak to feel they should be able to do a micro wedding (25-35 guests) for about $7000.00. At my venue you cannot do a wedding that size for 7k unless you are only providing light hors d’oeuvres, no alcohol, minimal florals and a friend doing photography.

Here are actual costs;

  • Venue $3000.00 – $6000.00
  • Rental for Tables/chairs/ceremony seating – $500.00 – $1000.00
  • Rental for linens/plates/ chargers/ table wear – $300.00 – $1000.00
  • Alcohol – $20.00 – $40.00 per person
  • Photography – $1500.00 – $5500.00
  • Videography – $1500.00 – $5500.00
  • Florals – $200.00 – 5500.00
  • Catering – $40 PP – $150.00 PP
  • Cake – $150.00 – $500.00
  • Attire for bride and groom – $1000.00 – $5000.00
  • Hair and makeup – $200.00 – $500.00 PP
  • Officiant Services – $350.00 – $500.00
  • Wedding Insurance $200.00 – $500.00
  • Day of coordinator $800.00 – 1500.00
  • Misc add ons $300.00 – $1000.00

So, for 25 guests going with the lowest pricing in each category your total price is $11,500.00.

If you decide you don’t want things like video it will take your cost down, but you are still looking at about 10,000.00 on the low side.

Guests cost more money no matter how you spin it. Being realistic with your budget and allocating more money to the areas that are most important will help you plan and not get frustrated. If your budget is very low you might want to consider an amazing all-inclusive elopement.

Best of luck with your planning!
