Silverbrook Farm Weddings

The farm is owned by Dot Shetterly and the land has been in her family for generations. Dot is the original pioneer of barn weddings in Loudoun County. She is also considered the Godmother of wedding venues by all her peers and is constantly called upon for advice and wisdom. Dot knows the wedding business! She loves creating intimate spaces and moments that are many times forgotten in the busyness of a wedding day. For example, between the ceremony and reception Dot insists on the couple retreating to one of her intimate spaces to share the moment while serving them champagne. There are many different ceremony and reception sites on the property depending on the wedding style and weather. The barn is very popular with its sitting areas, bar and crystal chandeliers. The boxwood garden, chapel, the main arbor overlooking the mountains and the woodland areas are also favorites. The woodland area is newly added, there are bridges, a tree house and wood benches. It speaks to the nature lovers, you feel like you’re in a deep enchanted forest. It is simply beautiful. Silverbrook is not only exquisite but a real deal. In addition to the venue you also have access to rooms of staging items like; china, vases, candlesticks, wine barrels and easels. There is also a flower decorating room with running water, vases, bird cages and stainless steel tables to work from. And, the bride and groom get a room for the night. The main house can sleep up to six people. The main house has a gorgeous front porch that is perfect for a small wedding or rehearsal dinner. There is also an outdoor bath house with a shower and claw footed tub. You can take a bath under the stars while drinking champagne, how decadent! Dot performs 80% of the weddings on her property and is a licensed officiant. She has created a venue like none other, she has thought of everything.
